Oregon launches text/email system for emergency notification | News
OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) - The City of Oregon has partnered with the Lucas County Emergency Management Agency to offer “Oregon Alerts” to city residents.
The program allows residents to receive email or text message notifications about emergency situations in the city of Oregon, including tornado warnings.
All Oregon residents and businesses with land line phones are already signed up for the system. Other residents can sign up to get the alerts sent to their cell phone or email address at www.oregonohio.org.
“This system has the ability to notify our residents quickly and easily about many types of alerts, such as tornados, water issues, and/or with reminders of changes in holiday refuse and recycling schedules,” said Mayor Mike Seferian.
“This is a great partnership because it creates one system. No matter where you live, work, or play in Lucas County, you can be notified,” said Lucas County EMA Director Matthew Heyrman.
